Use of English: Sexism in Language
This article reflects on the sexist use of pronouns, implying that men dominate more fields and get more qualified jobs. Students may discuss other forms of linguistic discrimination. We can read examples of third conditionals and structures for generalizations (i.e. "it is normal + for + person + to do"). The exercises focus on finding synonyms, semantic groups, relative pronouns, verb tenses and question construction. The solutions are given with some tips in Spanish.
